Facebook

  • Start with “Privacy Checkup” — it walks you through step by step.
  • Set future posts to “Friends”, not “Public”, and limit past posts too.
  • Hide your friends list, phone number and email.
  • Turn on “Tag review” so you don’t appear in photos without your consent.

Instagram

  • Make your account “Private”.
  • Use “Restrict” or “Block” on accounts that bother you.
  • Choose who can message you, comment, tag or mention you.
  • “Hidden words” filters abusive comments and messages.

WhatsApp

  • Privacy: choose who sees your photo, “last seen” and status.
  • “Groups”: only your contacts can add you.
  • “Silence unknown callers”.

TikTok

  • Private account, and choose who can comment, Duet/Stitch and message you.
  • Turn off “Suggest your account to others”.

Setting names change between versions. If you can’t find one, use the search box in settings.
