Are you in danger right now?

If your physical safety is at risk, call for help now. You have done nothing wrong, and you have the right to be safe.

What to do now

  • Get to a safe place
If you feel physically unsafe, move away from the person threatening you and go to someone you trust.
  • Talk to someone you trust
A friend, a family member or an organisation. Don’t stay alone with the fear.
  • Don’t delete the evidence
Keep messages and images as they are. Take screenshots showing the date and the account name.
  • Don’t pay the blackmailer
Paying usually does not stop blackmail, and they may ask for more.
  • Secure your accounts
Change your password, turn on two-factor authentication and log out of devices you don’t recognise.

Once you are safe

You can then document what happened and ask for psychological, legal or technical support. It is always your choice, and you don’t need to report to get help.
