Frequently asked questions about digital safety

Short answers to questions we hear often.

Can I use the platform without reporting?

Yes. You can read the resources and learn to protect yourself without reporting anything. The choice is always yours.

I sent a photo willingly — is it my fault?

No. Trusting someone is not a mistake. Sharing the photo, or threatening to, without your consent is the violence — and the responsibility lies with the person doing it.

How can I tell if my phone is being monitored?

Possible signs: the battery drains fast, apps you don’t recognise, someone knowing things you never told them. See the guide “How do I protect my phone”, and we can help technically too.

Can I report an account stirring up hate against me because of my identity?

Yes. Platforms ban hate speech based on gender and orientation. Document it, report it to the platform, and you can ask for support.
