Only you decide who knows, and when.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>Why outing is dangerous<\/h2>\n<p>In Tunisia, being outed can lead to family rejection, losing housing or work, physical violence or legal problems. That is why we treat it as a potentially dangerous situation.<\/p>\n<h2>If someone is threatening you<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Don\u2019t pay and don\u2019t send anything:<\/strong> this is blackmail, and paying doesn\u2019t stop it.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Document<\/strong> the threat and keep the evidence somewhere safe.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Reduce what can be found about you:<\/strong> clean up your accounts, hide friend lists, delete photos that could be used, and check your other accounts (dating apps\u2026).<\/li>\n<li><strong>Make a safety plan:<\/strong> where could you go if things get difficult at home? Who could you call?<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ask for support<\/strong> from LGBTQI+-respectful services. We can point you to them.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h2>If you have been outed<\/h2>\n<ul>\n<li>Your physical safety comes first. If you are in danger, <a href=\"\/en\/danger\/\">see what to do now<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Report the posts: revealing someone\u2019s orientation or identity is banned on most platforms.<\/li>\n<li>Psychological support matters a lot at this time.
