A strong, different password for each account<\/h2>\n<p>Use a long phrase you can remember (for example 4 words plus numbers), and never reuse the same password. A password manager makes this much easier.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Turn on two-factor authentication (2FA)<\/h2>\n<p>Even if someone knows your password, they can\u2019t log in without the second code. Prefer an authenticator app over SMS when you can.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Check connected devices<\/h2>\n<p>Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Gmail all have a \u201cDevices\u201d or \u201cActive sessions\u201d list. Log out any device you don\u2019t recognise.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Secure your email first<\/h2>\n<p>Your email is the key to all your accounts: whoever gets into it can reset your other passwords.<\/p>\n<h2>5.
